About the Job

At Oxalis, we're seeking a motivated Principal Consultant to join our team to provide innovative, comprehensive, and valuable solutions to companies in crop science and agriculture. The Principal Consultant role is a senior consulting position responsible for driving high-value engagements, delivering expert guidance to customers, and contributing to the growth and success of the firm. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, shaping technology strategy and leading high-impact teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.  


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in the architecture of tailored solutions to unique customer needs, and support system integrations involving complex environments and workflows. 
  • Analyze and assess business processes, systems, and workflows, identify gaps, and contribute to the prioritization of process improvements. 
  • Oversee and manage full engagement lifecycles, ensuring both Oxalis and the customer achieve measurable success. 
  • Communicate ideas and recommendations effectively, build trust through empathy and active listening, and present to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Participate in solution lifecycle, from initial scoping to post-implementation support, including workflow design, system configuration, and issue resolution. 
  • Identify and scope new engagements, expansions, and value-added services within existing accounts. 
  • Actively contribute to business development, proposal creation, and practice growth initiatives. 
  • Support operational strategies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and consultant effectiveness. 
  • Lead teams of consultants and technical specialists, setting direction and ensuring excellence in delivery. 


About You

  • Experience in crop science and commercialization, life sciences, or agriculture.  
  • Ability to manipulate and transform data with scripting tools or in business tools such as Python. 
  • Several years of experience in consulting, technology strategy, or enterprise IT solutions, with prior experience in a hands-on leadership role. 
  • Strong track record of leading and mentoring consultants while delivering high-value customer engagements. 
  • Led and delivered data transformation projects and initiatives.  
  • Demonstrated experience in executive stakeholder management. 
  • Experience in solution selling, account growth, and revenue generation. 
  • Proven ability to navigate organizational politics and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing executive audiences. 
  • Strong interest and experience in business development and/or practice growth. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration, or a related field. 
  • Ability to work in a remote environment, and ability to travel to company and customer sites from time to time in St. Louis.  


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus: Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Snowflake, dbt, Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 
  • Experience or understanding of Agile concepts and work in relevant frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, DevOps). 
  • Knowledge of project management concepts and tools, including planning, estimation, risk and issue management, and stakeholder communications. 
  • Expertise in at least one or more of the following areas: PPM, Enterprise Architecture, or related fields.

This is a remote position, and while the person will be working from home, it is important that Candidates live in the St. Louis Area to travel on-site to a customer location 2-3 days per week.
